My nephew Michael was born with a very rare genetic skin disease I don't know the full name of it but its shoft name is eb. Basically his body didn't create the enzymes to hold the skin layers together. So in which he always broke out with severe blisters all over his body.
All of his life he was limited in what he could do, Drs. said he wouldn't live past 6 weeks he did, said he wouldn't walk he did, said he would never attend school and graduate well he did. Michael never let his disease wear him down, and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
3 yrs ago Michael had a sore on his leg that wouldn't heal, thought my in laws took him to the DR several times in 4 months, the doctor insisted that it was only from his disease. 4 Months later the sore started to smell bad, and my in laws took him back and demanded they run a biopsy, thats when they found out it was cancer.
By this time the cancer had 4 months to spread through out his body, they tried amputating his leg to stop the spread but when they removed his lymphoid, it was full of cancer and they knew it was only a matter of time.
9 months later at 230 am April 21st 1999 Michael Michelle Stratmann passed away from this world and entered heaven where he no longer suffers. He died 17 days after his 24th birthday. 24 yrs after Drs. said he would never live to see his first birthday.
The night he died at the moment of his death the night sky lit up like day from lightening, and it rained exactly a week except for 1 day and that was the day of his funeral which was partly sunny and had a cool breeze which was the t ype of days he loved. Another strange coincidence is everyone that was close to him woke up at the moment of his death like we all knew something had happen. 3 hours later I found out why, my in laws in tears had arrived at my house to tell me my nephew and best friend had passed away.
I know that Michael is an angel now looking over all of us, and cheering us up and on when we need it. Mike we all miss you and cant wait to see you again your loving aunt and best friend Aunt Wanda
